Traditional-Transitional Kitchen Remodel

Updated Traditional-Transitional Kitchen Remodel

Renovated Areas:

The countertops were replaced with Silestone Calacatta Gold 3cm with an Ogee edge. We used a vent blower insert with a cabinet facade in place of a stainless steel vent hood. All cabinets were soft close with full extension drawer guides. Floors are an engineered hardwood product with a stainable layer that can be sanded and re-stained like traditional hardwood floors. Also, we left the brick fireplace but painted the trim in the living room. This choice maintained the elegance of the trim work while directing attention to the desired focal points of the room.

The style overall can be described as traditional-transitional. We respected the age and aesthetic of the home but reimagined those traditional-transitional elements to feel new. When thinking about your potential remodel, keep in mind the existing style of your home and consider ways to keep the style consistent but feel refreshed and improved.

Included in this traditional-transitional remodel are the paint colors picked from Benjamin Moore but color-matched by Sherwin Williams for the sake of cost and accessibility to materials.

Paint Colors:

Walls – Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray HC-173 Finish-Eggshell. Color-matched by Sherwin Williams.

Ceilings-Benjamin Moore HC-173 Edgecomb Gray; Finish-Flat. Color-matched by Sherwin Williams.

Trim- Sherwin Williams 7012 Creamy; Finish-Satin

Cabinets – Sherwin Williams Creamy; Finish-Satin

The stain was a custom mix specific to this job based on the wood species, the proposed design of furniture, and the tones of the brick around the fireplace.
